Join us in Meeting House Square in Temple Bar on 22 September for a free day of family fun that celebrates the magical art of storytelling.
The “Fable" show will retell Irish myths and legends for young ears, as seanchaís and colourful characters bring colourful tales of the Caorthannach (a monstrous dragon monster), The Famous Cú Chulainn, The Children of Lir,The Fairy Queen and the cheeky Puca to the Ark outdoor stage in the heart of Temple Bar.
With stories from children’s writer Dave Rudden, costumes from Claire Garvey, and designs from Kiki Na, this free show brings story, dance, and theatrics together to bring the rich culture of Ireland’s folkloric stories to life.
After the show, children will be encouraged to harness the spooky sounds of nature with the Morrigan’s “Sounds of the Forest”, play games with the cheeky Pooka, and cast out the cobwebs with our resident good witch Cailleach, as she brings us on a journey of discovery about inner magic through spells and mantras to inspire positive wellbeing.
Off-stage, Meeting House Square will be a hive of activity with face-painters and walkabout interactive characters. Don’t forget to bring bring your library card as Dublin City Library will have a pop up library where you can take out books and sign up for your library card.
